Who uses the Internet? Statistics abound, and there is no question that the number and variety of people logging on is growing daily. From its birth as a tool for scientists and government personnel to its role today as a commercial and information center, the human face of the Internet has changed dramatically. The "virtual community" is increasingly representative of the demographics of the "real" community as Internet access becomes more common in businesses, schools, libraries and homes.
